Beneath Kaş lies a whole other world

I had never dived before; at a dive centre I did a try dive. After a short briefing I took my very first breath underwater in shallow water with the instructor, my heart pounding with excitement. The visibility was incredible — I could see clearly for metres. We swam through schools of fish among the rocks, and below us lay columns and walls. For someone used to the murky, cold water of the Netherlands, that clarity felt like a miracle. Anyone who can swim should try it; no certificate is needed, but always choose a licensed centre. When I came out of the water, the only thing on my mind was diving again.
