I walked the Lycian Way along the coast

I set out early one morning on a short section near Kaş. Following the red-and-white waymarks, I made my way through pine-scented trails while the sea kept changing colour far below. For an Irishman used to green hills under a grey sky, that light and that blue felt unreal. The path is rocky in places; sturdy shoes and at least two litres of water are a must — I brought too little and struggled by midday. After cresting a hill I passed between ancient ruins and dropped down to a deserted cove for a swim, and in that moment all my tiredness melted away. To anyone who loves a bit of adventure: don't miss this side of Kaş.
