How to Get to Kaş: A Transport Guide

July 6, 20261 min read

Although Kaş belongs to the province of Antalya, it lies far from the city centre, so planning your journey in advance makes for a comfortable start. The good news: the journey itself is scenic and enjoyable, running along the Mediterranean coast.

If you're flying, you have two options. Dalaman Airport (DLM) is about 2.5-3 hours from Kaş by road and is usually the most practical choice. Antalya Airport (AYT) is larger and has more flights, but it's around 3.5-4 hours from Kaş. Compare your flight times and ticket prices and pick whichever suits you.

There are three ways to get from the airport to Kaş. The easiest is a private transfer: door to door, direct and with no hassle over luggage. A cheaper option is to take a bus from the airport to a nearby coach station and continue to Kaş from there. Renting a car is ideal if you want to explore the region on your own, but remember the roads are winding.

Coming by coach is very common and comfortable for travel within Turkey. There are regular services to Kaş via Antalya and Fethiye. The coaches are modern, air-conditioned and usually offer refreshments. Kaş coach station is within walking distance of the centre.

Tip: In summer (especially July-August), both flights and transfers fill up. If your dates are fixed, booking your ticket and transfer in advance is both cheaper and more relaxed.

Before setting off, check the weather and road conditions. The coast road is beautiful but winding; the most pleasant way to drive it is slowly, with breaks.
