Sunsets, Food and Evenings in Kaş

After a day of sea and sun, Kaş turns into a completely different town in the evenings. The air softens, the streets come alive and the sunset paints the whole coast orange.
One of the loveliest places to watch the sunset is the promenade on the western side of town and the spots looking out toward the island of Meis (Kastellorizo). Sitting at one of the cafés around the harbour and watching the sea change colour is a classic, too.
When it comes to food, Kaş is generous. Fresh fish and seafood take the lead, but the meze, olive-oil dishes and the region's vegetable specialities are well worth trying. You can have dinner at a fish restaurant near the harbour or at a more modest eatery in the back streets.
After dinner, stroll through the old streets; boutique shops, handmade jewellery and small art galleries stay open late. For a livelier evening, drop by one of the bars at the harbour.
Tip: On summer evenings popular restaurants fill up; if you want a table with a view in particular, it's wise to book ahead.
In Kaş, evenings are never rushed; a glass of tea, a long meal and a calm walk along the shore are the loveliest way to close the day.
